The following are five additional articles or researches that I may use to support for my essay topic â€Å"Employees Productivity†. A comment to each of them has been added to explain how they apply to the topic selected. 1-â€Å"Presenteeism and absenteeism: Differentiated understanding of related phenomena - Significant productivity losses due to absenteeism, traditionally resulting from major or even chronic health problems, are now associated with common health problems (Barnes, Buck, Williams, Webb, Aylward, 2008). Although it is now estimated that growing absenteeism is in large measure linked to psychological disorders, companies will have to be more proactive in their efforts to ensure the well-being of their employees† Organizations must have policies in place to prevent abuse of absenteeism. Absenteeism can deteriorate the production flow, not only in a manufacturing environment, but also at any level of the organization. On the other hand, presenteeism (Individual who comes to work while is sick) also can have implications in the employee productivity. Usually the problem is that the employee does not want to miss work, but because of this condition, employees tend to cause producti vity loss (due to sickness /medical condition). Managers should handle this problem in a way that does not affect other employees (Productivity and working environment- to make sure that the other will not be affected by employee’s medical condition).
